Join us May 4, 2018, at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus for Apra Rocky Mountains’ Spring Conference sponsored by DonorSearch and EverTrue!
For our morning session, Bill Tedesco of DonorSearch will present on The Changing Nature of Prospect Research. After conducting a groundbreaking study of $5 billion in giving from two million donors to 400 organizations, DonorSearch was able to identify the six factors that best predict future giving. Surprisingly, wealth by itself was not one of the top indicators of future philanthropy. In 2017, DonorSearch expanded on this research, analyzing an additional $685 million in giving–excluding outliers–from 1 million individuals to 400 more organizations.
This presentation will highlight how to identify major gift prospects using easily obtainable data and it will highlight the latest findings in major giving activity. Attendees will learn the six factors that best predict future philanthropy, will gain an understanding of how new technology plays into their research, and will learn how to identify the best major giving prospects on their prospect/donor lists.
Following Bill’s talk, guided group discussions during a catered lunch will encourage networking and help attendees discover how other Apra Rocky Mountains members handle wealth screening and all that comes before and after it. In the afternoon, EverTrue’s Jacob Norlock will present on Using Engagement and Social Insights to Discover and Qualify New Prospects, touching on alumni engagement scores and how researchers are using digital interactions to better understand constituents’ interests, social media engagement, and email and website interactions. EverTrue has pioneered tools that provide insights into how alumni and donors are engaging with an institution on social media and what their activity says about their interests.
