POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT                       

Temporary Director of Development Research

RESPONSIBILITIES:   This position is responsible for directing the prospect research operation for the Office of Institutional Advancement.  This work includes the management of research and related processes to effectively support Metros fundraising efforts.   Specific Responsibilities:  Prepare and present informational support to the Institutional Advancement staff on individual, alumni, foundation, and corporation prospects.  Use specialized resources to provide in-depth and/or targeted data in order to provide relevant prospect strategy and assignment recommendations.  Proactively identify, evaluate, and present new prospects for identified fundraising projects. Lead efforts to coordinate prospect assignment and moves management.  Develop and maintain systems to facilitate prospect identification, qualification, assignment, cultivation and solicitation.  Track actions with prospects, provide supporting research, and assist with prospect strategies.  Provide quarterly and year-end analysis of activities with prospects including asks made and actions completed.  Prepare bi-weekly Prospect Management Meeting agendas, offering agenda items on new prospects for review and current prospects for strategy discussions and updates.  Direct the maintenance of in-house informational resources including on-line, electronic, and hard copy data sources; hard-copy donor and prospect files.  Participate in the accurate maintenance and proactive system reviews of departmental database.  The successful candidate must have the ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population.
